Also survived by his beloved fur family Spencer the Chocolate Lab and Macy the Cat.
At Wayne's request he has asked to move back in with his folks and interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery on Saturday, October 13th at 11:00 a.m.

Ted attended public school at Morning Glory outside of Port Bolster and high school in Beaverton. Ted graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Retail Merchandising. Ted and his wife Bev were former owners of the Convenience Store in Port Bolster, which had been previously owned by his parents Edward and Reta Long. Ted worked for National Grocers in Orillia and Midland and ended his working career at the Villa Care Centre in Midland.
Ted was a proud member of the Pefferlaw Lions Club for 4 years, a charter member and treasurer of the Midland Train Club for over 20 years and the Stamp and Coin club of Midland.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the Port Bolster Community Hall, 31416 Lake Ridge Road, Port Bolster, on Saturday, December 28th from 2:00 p.m until 4:00 p.m. Interment to take place in the spring at the Old Stone Church Cemetery, Beaverton. If desired, a memorial donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. She was also a proud founding member of the RCAF 502 Wing ladies’ auxiliary. enjoyed gardening and spent her summers puttering in her yard, nurturing her flowers and vegetables. She was very specific of the harvesting techniques and specifically how the potatoes were to be dug! 's adaptability and determination were demonstrated when she obtained her driver’s licence at age 68 after Terry's passing. With her new wheels, she was able to maintain her independence. Survived by her sister-in-law Florence Fennell. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews and cousins. In June 1961 Shirley received her "Ontario Teacher's Certificate" and taught elementary school in Cannington and surrounding area until she married in June 1978. The family of Shirley Gibson will receive friends at the THORNE FUNERAL HOME, 109 Laidlaw Street South in Cannington (705-432-2672) on Wednesday, January 4th from 1 – 2 p.m. A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment Necropolis Cemetery, Cannington. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Church in Cannington, Beacan Presbyterian Church in Beaverton, Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation in Lindsay or the Township of Brock – Brock Animal Control.
