She died at her home in Kirkton where she resided with her daughter. Mrs. Gilpin was born and married in Ireland coming to this country in 1846. the family lived inYork and Darlington townships before moving into Blanshard, Perth Co where they bought a bush farm on the 10th con. In 1858, whcih was speedly transformed into arabel acres. Mr. Gilpin died 26 years ago. The subject of this notice is survived by 4 sons (Rev J. W of Harriston; Thos. Of Wiarton; W H druggist of Toronto and J J of Brussels) and 6 daughters (Mrs White, Mrs McGafie and Mrs J Doupe of Hartney Man; Mrs. A Doupe of Fergus; Miss Sarah of Granton and Miss Annie of Kirkton.) Mrs Gilpin was a member of the Methodist church since she was 8 years of age and heir home was the stopping place for many a parson . Ref. Henry Reid deceased was her brother. The funeral took place to St Marys cemetery on Tuesday afternoon, Rev J Ball conducting an appropriate service. Their four sons were the pall bearers. Mr. Gilpin of town went to Blanshard on Sunday and returned on Wednesday evening. He owns the homestead farm.
