He was born in the original Grace Hospital September 5, 1915, when his dad Edgar Garfield Rogers was serving overseas in the First World War. His mother Mae Margret Watson was greatly sorrowed to lose her other only two children in the Spanish flu epidemic in 1918. Kem was raised in River Heights and went to St. John's College completing grade eleven. He then attended Kingston Military School for a short time until his Honourable Discharge for medical reasons. He married Clare Edna Reichmuth September 5, 1945 and had a good marriage together for 35 years, until her passing in 1980. Their union produced two girls, Terry Miller (Brian), Donna Jenkins (Derek) and two boys, Garth and Bob. Kem was proud of his nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Kem started work for his dad in 1933 and worked at Canadian Rogers until he retired. He also worked for both the Canadian and United States governments at the time of the Second World War. He was a very successful businessman with many concerns. He is especially proud of his relationship with his business partner Bob Black, together they started Protelec Alarms in 1968. Dad was part of many good causes, a member of the Shrine and Masons for over 50 years, past president Winnipeg Executive Association and Rotary International for 34 years. An avid sportsman who loved to duck hunt, fish, bowl, curl and golf as a longtime member at St. Charles Country Club. He was a world traveller and enjoyed times at his cottage at Lake of the Woods. Let's not forget he loved the Blue Bombers and attended his first labour day classic in 1935 in Regina. He was a long time season ticket holder for them and the Jets. Dad loved playing cards and was well known for his skill in bridge and cribbage. Finally dad would like to express his love and respect to Marion Frances Simpson, his wife who shared the last 26 years together, accepting and enjoying all life had to offer. His family would like to express thanks for the care he received at Riverview Health Centre. A special thanks to daughter-in-law Ivy Rogers for all the help in the last few years. A celebration of life takes place Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at The Wellington, 3161 Grant Avenue at 2:00 p.m. |

| Death* | Marshall Charles Rogers Jr. died on 17 February 2010 in Ilwaco, Pacific County, Washington, United States, at age 84; Marshall C. Rogers Jr., 84, lifelong Ilwaco, Wash., resident, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at home, surrounded by family. He was born Dec. 24, 1925, in Ilwaco, to Marshall and Florence "Flossie" (Shier) Rogers. His family immigrated to America in 1635 from England, progressing west until settling in Washington in 1888. He was the fourth generation of his family to reside in Ilwaco. He attended Ilwaco Grade School and Ilwaco High School. Immediately following high school, he joined the U.S. Navy, and served during World War II. Returning home, he married Cleo Kase on June 16, 1946. She preceded him in death in 2001. Mr. Rogers was employed by Doupe Brothers Hardware and was the projectionist at Ilwaco Theatre. He then began his career for Pacific County Public Utility District No. 2, where he worked for more than 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Occident Lodge No. 99 Free and Accepted Masons, where he was a 32nd degree Mason, Affifi Shrine, Long Beach (Wash.) Elks, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Ilwaco Post of the American Legion. He was also a long-time member of the Ilwaco Volunteer Fire Department. His grandfather was among the founders of the Ilwaco Presbyterian Church, and he was a lifelong member of Ocean Beach (Wash.) Presbyterian Church. Family members said that in past years he fished commercially out of the Port of Ilwaco in his spare time. Residents in Ilwaco could always count on him to keep track of local weather conditions. He was an avid elk, deer and duck hunter, and he and and his wife traveled throughout the U.S. and also had made several trips to Europe. He loved spending time with his feline companion, Peaches. He was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Debbie Rogers, who died in a commercial fishing accident in 1999. -- The Daily Astorian. |

| Marriage* | Nora Maxine Rogers married Clare Edward Bagshaw, son of Wilmot Russell Bagshaw and Mary Helen Vallentyne, on 21 October 1950. |
| Death* | Nora Maxine Rogers died on 4 April 2023 in Oak Crossing Long Term Care Home, London, Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada, at age 95; n Loving Memory of Nora Maxine Bagshaw (nee Rogers) at the age of 95. Nora passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4 at Oak Crossing Long Term Care home in London, ON shortly after celebrating her 95th birthday and after suffering the last few years from the horrible disease of dementia. Nora was born in St. Catharines on March 25, 1928. Dear wife of Clare Bagshaw (pre-deceased 2012). Dear mother of Ed (Nicole predeceased), Don (Brigitte), Gwen (Bob) and Barb (Norm). Cherished Nanny of Jonathan, Kate, Ivan (Meagan), Jeremy (Lindsey), Michael, Julie (Jason), Braden (Erin), Philip (Julia), Carley (Curtis), Lindsey (Scott), Heather, Jay (Erika). Dear Great Gran of Violet, Lucy, Clare, Hazel, Noelle, Benjamin, Jeffrey, James, Whitney, Peyton-Mary, Noah, Carter, Summer, Preston, Charlie and Lennon. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Elsie Rogers and her brother Gren. Lovingly remembered by so many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Nora and Clare met through mutual friends and after a whirlwind romance, married in October of 1950. Nora enthusiastically moved to the Bagshaw family farm on the 10th concession of Brock and soon started their family. They remained at the family farm until 1978 when they built their home in Cannington. Nora was very involved in the United Church and was an active member of the UCW who recognized her with a lifetime membership. She served on the board of the United Church for many years. Always active in her community, Nora volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Brock Good Neighbours (now Community Care), the Cancer Society, Cannington Lioness to name a few. But Family was her "everything". She loved the mayhem of having all 12 grandchildren - at one time all under the age of 10 - in their home for celebrations. She never missed a graduation, and called every one of her kids and grandkids on their birthdays when able. When the first of 16 great grandchildren started to arrive, she was ecstatic. Such a fun lady, Nora was game for anything and continued to waterski well into her 80s. She swam with dolphins in Cuba when she was 88! Our family would like to thank the staff - especially the PSWs and Recreation Staff - at Oak Crossing for their care and compassion. Nora found a place in their hearts in the 2 years she was there. Per her wishes, a cremation has already occurred. There will be a celebration of Nora's life at Trinity United Church, 50 Laidlaw Street in Cannington on Saturday, May 6th. Visitation from 12-2PM, service immediately following and then a get together in the lower hall where we can celebrate Nora's well-lived life. Interment in the Bagshaw Cemetery, 9th concession of Brock. In lieu of flowers, donations to Trinity United Church, the Alzheimer Society or a Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated. |
