Proud “Grandma” of Rodney and Bill Piasetzki Jr., Katelyn Shier, Christine and Larissa Shier, Kerri-Ann Gibeault (Barry) and “Nanny” of Sydney and Jordyn Gibeault. On June 23, 1951, Lucille married Maynard Schuettpelz at Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain. The couple lived on a farm in How after their marriage before moving into town in 1959. Lucille was a devoted wife and stay at home mother to her three children, Randy, Daryl, and Pam. After the kids were grown, Lucille started working out of the house. She was a waitress at Tousey’s Restaurant and Logan Inn. She also was the Suring Daycare Director for over 20 years. Lucille was a life long member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church and served on the Ladies Aid and Missionary League. She greatly enjoyed camping and traveling. Lucille treasured time spent with her grandchildren, baking cinnamon rolls for their visits. She also enjoyed making quilts and entertaining visitors with coffee and desserts. Lucille is survived by her children, Randy (Mary) Schuettpelz and Pamela (Dennis) Staude; daughter-in-law, Barb Schuettpelz; 5 grandchildren, LoriAnn (Jason) Schaefer, Tim (Tanya) Schuettpelz, CarrieAnn (Cole) Zondag, Jennifer (Kyle) Mook, and Jessica (Jim) Braun; 8 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Trenton, Trevor, Trinity, Tanner, Connor, Cadin, and Carter; 2 brothers, Lloyd Larsen and Leon (Jean) Larsen; 2 brothers-in-law, Leonard Johnson and Rodger Schuettpelz; sister-in-law, Arlene Larsen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard; son, Daryl Schuettpelz; brothers, Lester, Louis, and Lee; sisters, Lois and Louella. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Michael Paholke officiating. Lucille will be interred next to Maynard at Mount Olive Lutheran Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring is assisting the family with arrangements. For over 20 years Luella worked for Northland Lutheran at the Luther Home, from which she retired. Luellas life was an extraordinary example of love extended to her family and others. To know her was to love her in return. While always helping others, she loved being with her family and working in her garden at home. She is survived by her husband, Germain; five children, Marilyn (Dale) Olsen of Menominee, Jerome Friedland of Green Bay, Jeff (Denise) Friedland of Marinette, Joey Friedland of Menominee and Melody (Joe) Hargis of Sturgeon Bay, Wis; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Schuettpelz; and two brothers, Lloyd "Bud" Larsen and Leon (Jean) Larsen. She was preceded in death by three brothers. Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, from 3 until 5 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. Entombment will be in Forest Home Mausoleum. |

Sadly missed by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughters,Virginia Shier (1998), Rosemary Warner (2008), grandson Henry Shier (1998), great-grandson Dewayne Shreve, and brothers, Hector (Florence), Harvey and Alphonse. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place at the McKinlay Funeral Home, on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Leona Wright, officiating. Interment will be held in Maple Leaf Cemetery. Donations in memory of Marie to the Pet and Wildlife Rescue, Ontario SPCA or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
