She and Art spent 2 ½ years in a retirement residence in Peterborough, but after Art’s passing, Ev moved into Marian Villa in London. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 11AM, at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME in Peterborough, Ontario, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Omemee Emily Cemetery following the service. Elected as a life Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in 1992, Jack was resident at 2 Cottage Avenue in Hamilton for more than 60 years.
Jack was the son of the late Stanley and Bernice Fair and is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marion Eliza Scholfield Fair. He was predeceased by sisters Dorothy (Bruce) Anstey, Velma (Jack) Gilbert, and Amy (Len) Berg. He is survived by sisters Marjorie (Merv) Rush, Doris (Mel) Sterling, Beth (Neil) McPhee, and by brothers Robert (Ethel) Fair, Jim (Joel) Fair, and Bill Fair, and by daughters Susan (Cal), Marilyn (Kevin), Jean (Jim), Ruth, and son John (Carol-Lynn). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Jennifer (Dwayne), Sean (Diane), Christopher (Hyunju), Greg (Rhianna), Allison, Emily (Venkat), Stephanie (Adam), Stewart, Shawn and his 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Marlatt Funeral Home at 615 Main Street East, Hamilton on Thursday, October 27 between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m. A celebration of Jack's life will take place on October 28, 2011 at the Church of St. John the Evangelist, 320 Charlton Avenue, Hamilton, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations in Jack's name may be made to a charity of your choice. Loving husband of 43 years to Catherine (nee Fenton) and father to Stefanie (Rodney) Stickwood and Shawn (Joanna) Fair. Best Papa ever to Aiden, Olivia and Luke Stickwood and Freyja and Liam Fair. Brother to Ken (Cheryl) Fair and predeceased by his parents Allan (Lorna Shier) Fair. He will be missed by his mother and father in-law Douglas and Pauline Fenton, sister in-law Connie Fenton and his nieces and nephews. Rob spent his career with the Township of Brock creating lasting friendships with many of those he worked with. A man of many hobbies which included RC airplanes, lego, model trains, woodworking and a dedicated member of the Cannington historical society, he created many lasting memories and friendships with those he met along the way. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. A special thank you to Oak Ridges Hospice for their unbelievable compassion and support during such a difficult time. A graveside service will be held at the Sunderland Cemetery on Thursday, August 15th at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome. A celebration of life will follow at the Sunderland Legion from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oak Ridges Hospice or the Cannington Historical Society. |
