She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Dr. Donald R. McCorvie. She is survived by her four children (and their spouses); Scott McCorvie (Bonnie) of St. Johns, MI; Jill Perkins (Terry) of Perry, MI; Mary Jo Morrison (Brad) of Bettendorf, IA; Lisa Frye (Bill) of Alexandria, VA and her six grandchildren, the loves of her life: Drew Perkins; Mecca and Madison Morrison; Ian and Kevin McCorvie and Isabel Frye. Mrs. McCorvie (Lois) grew up in Desboro, Ontario, Canada and graduated from the University of Toronto as a registered nurse before she moved to Michigan. While attending the University of Toronto, Lois also worked at Toronto Western Hospital as a public health nurse. Lois and her husband, Don, were married in Desboro, Ontario on August 8, 1953 and moved to Williamston in 1956 where she assisted Don in his medical practice of 36 years. Lois was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to so many. Her life was devoted to helping others. Her hobbies were weaving, knitting, sewing, reading, water aerobics, cooking, crafting, gardening, flower arranging and being Don’s First Mate, not only on his beloved boat, but in their life together.

Special thanks from Lois’ entire family to Crosaires where Mom (and Dad) were both cared for with the utmost respect and love during their time living in the home environment that they would not have found anywhere else. Todd Walter, all the care partners and especially the elders all quickly became our extended family who we came to love. You truly made those days comfortable for her and for that we are eternally grateful.

A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at noon on November 19, 2016 at Williamston United Methodist Church, 211 S. Putnam St., Williamston. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service at the church.
