Death* | Pamela Johanna Hedch died in 2011 in Thunder Bay, District of Thunder bay, Ontario, Canada; 1958 - 2011 Mrs. Pamela Johanna Duczynski (nee Hedch), aged 53 years, a resident of Spofford Street, passed away peacefully at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with her husband John (CAA Guy) holding her hand. Pamela was born in Fort William and grew up in Stanley. At the age of 7, the Hedch family moved to BC where she met her life-long best friend, Brenda Visnoski, while working at Esso. She met John in Edmonton and they were married twice, as she said the first time was for prizes and the second, the next year, was for love. She was waiting for their 30th anniversary to take a real honeymoon because the first year, in Edmonton, they were stuck in the middle of a tornado. They moved to Thunder Bay and Pamela worked numerous jobs and continued her education. She returned to Confederation College to get her Environmental Tech and Surveying, but due to illness she was unable to finish. In Thunder Bay she was known as the Warden because she was always watching out for all. Pamela loved to sew dresses for her daughters and granddaughters and she enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino in Grande Portage where she would meet friends. Pamela held her family very dear to her heart, especially her 10.7 grandchildren, as her youngest daughter is 7 months pregnant. Pamela was a loving wife and kind hearted woman that helped anyone that was in need. Her house always had an open door and she provided a shoulder to cry on and an open ear for anyone that needed to talk. She was and still is the heart and soul of this family. She made sure before she took this last journey of her life that she left a piece of her with all of us. Survived by her husband John; children Serina, Janine, Tekla and Harry; grandchildren Billy, Heaven, Brock, Alexis, Julianna, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Jaden, Marissa and Kamryn; brothers Larry (Edith) of Vancouver, Allen (Edna) of Edmonton and Greg of Calgary; sisters Wendy (Alton) King of Cranbrook, Judy (Avy) Raber of Harrison Hot Springs, Gwen (Jeff) Hollands of Victoria and Laura (Doug) Burnnette of Edmonton. Predeceased by her parents Alfred and Ida Hedch (nee Hendrickson). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home with Father James Panikulam officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. As per Pamela's wishes, memorial donations to the family, John Duczynski, would be appreciated. Mom we all love you andare all with you. Eventually we will see you again. Stand by our sides andkeep us strong. Thank you for all you've done. On line condolences at: www.jenkens-funeral.ca. |

In 1835 he took charge of a church in Bangor, Maine; in 1850, after spending a year in Europe, he became pastor of the Westminster Church in Providence, Rhode Island, and in 1856 of the church in Brookline, Massachusetts in 1828 in Massachusetts, United States. |

Death* | He died on 21 August 1890 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States, at age 84; Unitarian Minister. A founding member of Transcendentalism. Hedge studied abroad in Germany with his tutor, the historian George Bancroft, before graduating from Harvard College as the valedictorian of the class of 1825. He then enrolled in Harvard Divinity School, where he met Ralph Waldo Emerson. Ordained in 1829, he became the minister at a church in West Cambridge (now Arlington), Massachusetts for a short time before taking a position in Bangor, Maine. He married Lucy Pierce in 1830; they had four children. Meeting with other religious philosophers, including Emerson and George Ripley, Hedge hosted the first meeting of the Transcendental Club at his home. The group, which also included Bronson Alcott, James Freeman Clarke, and others, was originally named Hedge's Club because they relied on Hedge traveling from Maine. He was not as radical as other members of the group, however, and stayed closely affiliated with the church. He refused to submit to "The Dial", though he was the first to suggest that the group publish a journal, because he did not want his connection with them seen in print. He later said, "My historical conscience... kept me ecclesiastically conservative, though intellectually radical." After leaving his pulpit in Maine, he worked at churches in Providence, Rhode Island and Brookline, Massachusetts and served a term as President of the American Unitarian Association. He returned to Harvard Divinity School as a professor and to edit the "Christian Examiner." At the end of his career, he taught German literature at Harvard. He published several books, mostly on religion, and translated others, including "Faust" from the original German
