Gail was so very fond and loved the company of her four sisters Sharon (Lou), Denethia (Skip), Pamela (Dave), and Jamie (John).

Gail was born in Varney, West Virginia. She moved to the Detroit area in her teens, following her mother who had moved north to find work. Gail met Ken at church, and they were soon married. Within five years of their marriage, they had three children.

In 1970 Ken and Gail moved the house they lived in for the rest of their lives in Livonia, Michigan. The family remembers many gatherings in their backyard, and her grandchildren learned to drive on the tractors at the house.

Her granddaughters learned to sew and bake from Gail. They still have some cooking utensils in their own kitchens from Gail’s kitchen that bring back many memories. “Care packages” to children and grandchildren always contained some homemade cookies or sweets. Gail’s grandchildren remember her as loving and always willing to play.

Gail enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables very much. She was outside early, planting, weeding, and picking. She loved nothing more than sending guests away with a bag of vegetables and a bunch of flowers.

Gail had a strong faith in God and the power of prayer. If you knew her, she has prayed for you. She enjoyed fellowship with her church, just down the road from her house. Her favorite activity at church was watching little ones in the nursery. Gail always had some toys or stickers ready for this task.

A celebration of life for Gail will be held Saturday, April 6th, 2024. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm, followed by a service at 2:00pm at Fellowship Bible Church 34541 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48154. Death*Eldon Grant Kay died on 23 April 2018 at age 95; On April 23rd, in his 96th year, surrounded by family, Eldon passed peacefully to spend eternity with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Beloved husband of Mildred (nee Hoffman) for 62 years. Loving father (father-in-law) to Brenda (Michael) Ben and Joanne (Les) Bell. Proud grandfather of Sarah Ben and Michelle (Michael) Gropp and Geoffrey Bell. Lovingly remembered by siblings Wilma Snider (late Floyd), Allan (Donna) Kay; and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Rev. C. W. and Nora Kay; sister Joyce (late Ray) Elgie. The family will receive friends at HARROWSMITH FREE METHODIST CHURCH, in Harrowsmith on Friday April 27th from 6:30 – 9pm and on Saturday April 28th from 1-2pm.
