He was born in the original Grace Hospital September 5, 1915, when his dad Edgar Garfield Rogers was serving overseas in the First World War. His mother Mae Margret Watson was greatly sorrowed to lose her other only two children in the Spanish flu epidemic in 1918. Kem was raised in River Heights and went to St. John's College completing grade eleven. He then attended Kingston Military School for a short time until his Honourable Discharge for medical reasons. He married Clare Edna Reichmuth September 5, 1945 and had a good marriage together for 35 years, until her passing in 1980. Dad loved playing cards and was well known for his skill in bridge and cribbage. Finally dad would like to express his love and respect to Marion Frances Simpson, his wife who shared the last 26 years together, accepting and enjoying all life had to offer. His family would like to express thanks for the care he received at Riverview Health Centre. A special thanks to daughter-in-law Ivy Rogers for all the help in the last few years.
