Theda was born November 17, 1921 in Baca County, Colorado to John H. Canon and Barbara N. McWhorter Canon. Her parents preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband H.H. Shier and her daughter Patricia M. Smitherman and her sisters Johnnie Delle Jones and Martha T. Graham, brothers Milton Canon and Addison Canon.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters Linda Jo Dever of Canon City, CO, Marta D. Peddie of Alpine, AZ, Mary B. Virden of Roswell, NM and Henrietta C. Woods of Springfield, OH brother Joe Glenn Canon of Roswell, NM sister Barbara N. Nelson of Cave Creek, AZ and eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Theda owned her own Floral Business in Ruidoso, NM from 1953 to 1969. She retired and moved to Roswell and worked at Barringers Blossom Shop for twenty years. Theda was member of the Beta Sigma Phi and Eastern Star for fifty years. She loved to travel, garden and take care of her grandchildren. Theda will be missed dearly by all who loved and knew her. |
